Afterschool Adventures
@ 485 Atlantic Avenue

WHAT

During Afterschool Adventures we travel the world through the hands-on experiences embedded in our unique enrichment curriculum. As part of this experience, our explorers relate back to their own culture and heritage to discover what makes them a unique global citizen. Our aim is to instill a love of exploration, adventure, and learning in each child that walks through our doors. We also include time for snacks, group games/challenges, and free play in each day’s adventures. Our program at 485 Atlantic is a class-based program, and when you enroll you’ll select the class/day that best fits your child’s interests and schedule.

How

World Explorers staff pickup students from PS 38 at dismissal time and walk to our location at 485 Atlantic Avenue.  Guardians pickup from Atlantic Avenue anytime between 3:00 and 6:00 PM.

World Explorers requires a minimum of four (4) students to provide pickup on any given day.

Who

Most staff are either currently attending an undergraduate program, a graduate program, or have received a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in any number of fields, mainly in art and education. Specialists on staff assist in the creation and implementation of the Afterschool Adventures curriculum, including our in-house art and drama specialists.

Enrollment

Enrollment is based on January - June.  When you enroll, you can set your child’s schedule (i.e. just Mondays; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; all five days, etc) The tuition is based on the number of days per week your child will attend.

We are flexible with schedule changes throughout the year, as long as space remains available.
