Community Projects

Light Up, Jamaica

Our preschool and after school programs celebrated Jamaican art and culture as we raised the funds to install electricity in a rural school in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica.

Mini Monks

While learning about these “mini-monks”, our students participated in a cultural exchange. For our service-learning project, we collected items to send to the monastery such as clothes (hats, gloves, socks, scarves, t-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, etc), small toys or card games, as well as toothpaste, and toothbrushes to support the medical clinic which was started by a group of foreign volunteers.

Real Life Superheros! Dept.9

Firefighters have one of the most dangerous jobs and require the utmost bravery and sacrifice in service of the greater good of our community. Our local firefighters also ensure our day- to-day safety by giving inspections of our schools and buildings. We would like to give them a big thank you and express our sincere gratitude for all that they do by making them a delicious treats.

Haiti Hurricane Relief

We partnered with Kafe Louverture, a local baker in Bed-Stuy with Haitian roots, to collect items that the people of Haiti are in desperate need of due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew. These goods were hand delivered to communities in Haiti by Anthony Cunningham, the owner of Kafe Louverture.
